Matakana School is part of the school bus service that is operated through Go Bus.

When students enrol at school they are automatically allocated a bus depending on where they live. Unless students live out of zone they are entitled to use the bus free of charge. Due to Health and Safety requirements students are discouraged from getting on a bus that they would not normally use, i.e to go home with another child.

At the end of the day, students are put into bus lines and escorted onto the buses by a duty teacher.
