OUT OF ZONE ENROLMENTS
Enrolment at Matakana School is governed by an enrolment scheme. Children who live within the Matakana School ‘Home Zone’ have an absolute right to attend the school. If you live outside of the ‘home zone’, enrolment is governed by the provisions of the Education Act 1989. If the Board of Trustees determines space is available, the school will invite out of zone applications for available places via the school website and local paper, stating the application deadline and where to find more information about the Out of Zone Process. .
Out of Zone Enrolment Vacancies for Term 1 & Term 2 / 2026
The Board of Trustees has determined that there are expected to be 10 out of zone places for students in Year 2 in 2026. If you would like to apply, please submit an Out of Zone Expression of Interest, before the deadline date.
No out of zone places are available for any other year groups in 2026.
Deadline for applications - Wednesday 8th October 2025
If required ballot drawn - Wednesday 15th October 2025
Parents will be informed of the ballot outcome by Friday 17th October 2025
If you would like to apply for a possible out of zone place for Term 3 or 4 / 2026, please refer to this page at the end of April for updated information.
